- The Expanse Series, by James Corey
- Amazon did a streaming TV series of this, but as usual the books are better. There’s eight books total in the series and I can’t recommend them enough! The depth of the universe within the stories is great!
- Three Body Problem Series, by Cixin Liu – this series is also known as Remembrance of Earth’s Past
- Why We Sleep: Unlocking the Power of Sleep and Dreams – Matthew Walker
- I’m a science nerd (despite lack of any real education in the field) so I’m into things like neurology, and anything related to the brain. This book was great since it discusses many topics related to sleeping but does so in a way that doesn’t start to bore like a textbook can. My particular interest in this book was the effects of coffee on sleep and the brain.
- The Mysterious Stranger – Mark Twain
- American Gods – Neil Gaiman
- Children of Time – Adrian Tchaikovsky
- Dracula – Bram Stoker
- The Light of Other Days – Arthur C. Clarke
- The Long Earth – Terry Pratchett
- Multi-book series with a fun and comedic version of the parallel earths type of plot that starts and with humor at the very beginning.
- But What If We’re Wrong? Thinking About the Present As If It Were the Past – Chuck Klosterman
- Behave: The Biology of Humans at Our Best and Worst – Robert M. Sapolsky
- The Gene: An Intimate History – Siddhartha Mukherjee
… and many many more. I’m trying to add books manually right now until I figure out the best way to easily importing all these. Once I get the list in, I’ll try to categorize it and add my thoughts on some of these.
